Urmila Matondkar is back in Ram Gopal Varma's camp. The former mentor-protege has again become friends and is doing a film together to be directed by Taufeeq from Ramu's factor. Urmila had an interesting last year and she is hoping the same for this year.

The actress who turned 32 recently, spent her big day watching Bryan Adams' concert and feeling fantastic. Through the years of her life she has spent her birthday with her friends and family and she considers it to be the best gift and happy moments of her life.

How was the last year for you? "To be very true I found the year very interesting and exciting. I did ‘Naina' and the film contented the actress inside me. Its overwhelming opening took everybody by surprise and even me too. The story was great and the only star value of the film was I. Another exceptional film followed with ‘Maine Gandhi Ko Nahin Mara'. I was appreciated for my performance there. Though the film belonged to Anupam, the Gandhian theme touched me."

How do you look at this year? "I think this year will also leave me equally satisfied and fulfilling like the last year. There are many films at hand to complete. I'm doing a Ram Gopal Varma's film to be directed by newcomer Taufeeq. The intense theme of the film has caught hold of me and I'm definitely doing it. Other than this there is Pankaj Parasher's ‘Benaras'. Most part of the film has been shot and it'll be releasing shortly. There is a commercial thriller with Aftab titled ‘Speed' by Harry Baweja and Vikram Bhatt. I'm also doing Onir's film ‘Bas Ek Pal Ke Liye'."

Are you open to the idea of working with new director and actors? "Yes I don't have any hesitation to work with newcomers. Instead I like working with actors and directors I haven't worked with before."

Your feelings to work again with RGV! "I think that working with RGV is worth for the kind of films that he makes. And every time he finds me worthy of doing anything I'll do. We've done some brilliant films in the past. So in the future too I look forward to do some quality work with him without bothering much about anything else.

My films with him have done well and I have also been appreciated for the roles that he has offered me. Setting the speculations aside, I just want to concentrate on my work. He is a great filmmaker and it'll be a professional injustice on my part if I don't work with him."
